Over a century ago, merchant vessels laden with rice dotted the Chao Phraya River. These teakwood boats would sail from the river‘s mouth in Bangkok to the open sea, journeying as far south as Koh Samui island in the Gulf of Thailand. The sea traders of that time could not have imagined that these vessels would be reborn in the 21st century as the elegant twostory boat suites at Meliá Koh Samui, blossoming into a new life.
Meliá Koh Samui is located on the secluded Choeng Mon Beach on the northeastern tip of Koh Samui, fronting the pristine white sands and turquoise waters, just a 15minute drive from Koh Samui International Airport, yet far from the hustle and bustle. It opened in 2020 as the first hotel in Thailand under the Spanish hotel group Meliá Hotels International.
