建一座自己的酒店或许是每一位建筑师的梦想。
2004年，新加坡SCDA建筑师事务所创始人曾仕乾与妻子来巴厘岛旅行，原本想在岛上建个家庭度假屋。一次偶然的机缘，使曾仕乾与妻子坐上直升机，沿巴厘岛的西南海岸见到了这样的景色：
印度洋汹涌的白浪冲刷着耀眼的黑沙滩，沙滩之上是无尽的翠绿稻田和隐在丛林中的村庄，一块巨大的石崖伸进大海，远处的火山轮廓依稀可辨......
在这块位于巴厘岛塔班南地区的梦想之地，由曾仕乾自己拥有并亲自设计的酒店于2009年开业，并于2016年命名为巴厘岛苏里别墅Soori Bali。
Every architect dreams about having a hotel.
In 2004, Mr. Soo K. Chan, the founder of SCDA Architects in Singapore, traveled to Bali with his wife, with the initial plan to build a holiday house on the island. Chance brought the couple in a helicopter over the southwest cost of Bali to come across the eternal beauty of nature as such:
White waves of the Indian Ocean are crushing on the dazzling black sand beach, over the beach are infinite green of terraced rice fields and villages hidden in the jungle. A giant rocky cliff stretches into the sea, outline of the volcanic mountains in the distance is faintly discernible...
On this dream land in the Tabanan regency of Bali, a hotel owned and designed by Soo K. Chan opened its doors in 2009 and was named Soori Bali in 2016.
