当车辆驶过巴厘岛乌布一片又一片的稻田村庄和丛林，海拔一路上升，终于在一座村庄的尽头出现一座开放式的迎宾大厅。我们入内落座，在高挑的茅草斜屋顶下轻啜冰饮，吃一种由芭蕉叶小船盛着，由整颗草莓包裹巧克力制成的迎宾点心，禁不住好奇：“酒店在哪呢？”
直等走到大厅边缘，才发现我们正处在山谷之巅，空中花园酒店就藏在谷坡茂密的热带丛林中。从大厅向下88级石阶是餐厅的茅草屋顶；大厅右侧，一条轨道缆车沿45度倾斜笔直穿进林中，将客人送往酒店各分层，直抵山谷深处的阿漾Ayung河畔。
Hanging Gardens, a name that evokes infinite imagination, is not only the ancient legend of Babylon, but also a real place in today‘s world.
As our vehicles drove through the rice fields, villages and jungles of Ubud, Bali, the altitude gradually rose. Finally, an openair reception hall appeared at the end of a village. We took our seats inside and sipped ice drinks under the high thatched roof. We ate a welcoming dessert made of chocolatecovered strawberries served in a banana leaf boat. Curious, we wondered, ”Where is the hotel”
It wasn‘t until we walked to the edge of the reception hall that we realized we were on top of a valley, The Hanging Gardens of Bali was just hidden in the dense tropical jungle on the slope.
88 stone steps down was the thatchedroof of the restaurant. From the right side of the hall, a private funicular ran at 45degree angle straight into the jungle, taking guests to various levels of the hotel, all the way down to the Ayung River.
