酒店群中的现代建筑由法国著名设计师皮埃尔・伊夫・罗雄 (PierreYves Rochon)打造而成,完美地传达了都市精致的休闲的时尚的当代生活理念。客房内绿宝石般轻盈的色泽是黑灰白铬黄的调和物;波西米亚式水晶元素现身各处,妖娆枝蔓的吊灯不仅仅点亮了空间,更折射出深远的捷克艺术传统魅力;笔直且干净利落的细条纹同样是对捷克美学的盛赞,而墙上布拉格旧时的黑白照则使房间充满了舒适的家居情怀。凭窗而望,无论从哪个角度出发,均可将美景捕获,经由伏尔塔纳河的指引,更可一睹布拉格城堡的风貌。
三座伟岸的历史建筑分别代表了新文艺复兴新古典主义及巴洛克风格。其中,新文艺复兴风格的建筑设计于1883年,前身是一套商住两用房,整个建筑内部的亮点来自于拱形结构覆以倾斜的叠层屋顶。外表富足华丽的艺术设计已得到了完美的修复,包括宏伟的入口大厅内穹顶的壁画及支撑墙体的古典立柱。回溯至1827年,新古典主义建筑最初是一座工厂,直到1846年才作为一套公寓式住宅被使用。建筑的墙面体现了北方及西方的装饰风格,优雅的飞檐及表面精巧的粉刷细节均保留至今。巴洛克风格建筑是其中最古老的一座,建于1568年,立于伏尔塔纳河之上,后面便是十字军骑士修道院。四季酒店的总统套便坐落在此,浓重的红金色调与考究的家具式样定会令你产生欧洲王室的幻觉。卧室窗外的查理大桥近在咫尺,似随时可踏上去一探究竟。众多建筑风格的融入,且能彼此交互辉映,着实引人称赞。
酒店内部的装饰同样成功地糅合了新老两种艺术风格。在材料的选用上,法国石灰岩大理石及昂贵的原木被用于公共区域,其实正是对布拉格旧时传统内部装饰风格的继承。大堂内,石灰岩的嵌板门扇的框缘及架构式的开口均是19世纪内部装饰的重要体现。而大堂地板简洁的几何图案以及餐厅墙面嵌板的设计则是一副现代主义的面貌了。
不能承受生命之轻
透过捷克裔法国作家昆德拉溢满反讽的随性笔锋,我读到了精致而沉重的语义,一个血管中流淌着捷克血液的法国人,最讽刺的不是他的作品,而是即使他在异乡声名大噪,禀赋中欧人的叛逆与亲历忧患的那般深邃,都是浪漫多情的塞纳河所不能赋予的。那也许才是真的不能承受的生命之轻。相比之下,我更钟情毅然从哥德堡回到布拉格的斯美塔那,《我的祖国》中澎湃的爱国热情宏大丰富的意境内涵,写满了捷克人对于生命独立尊严的礼赞,那样的咏叹来的更直接更绚烂。热情的中欧;叛逆而天真烂漫的捷克人;洒脱不羁充满小资的布拉格,此时此刻驻足于四季酒店的我,仿佛与她们神交已久且灵魂契合。
Beauty on the Vltava River
In a city like Prague, even the socalled new building has a history of dozens or even hundreds of years. The Four Seasons Hotel Prague is composed of three old buildings and a newer building. The Vltava River outside the hotel window flows with the charm of the four seasons of water, and the hotel buildings also exude the static serenity of Prague.
Praises for the Czech Aesthetics
The modern architecture of the hotel complex, created by the famous French designer PierreYves Rochon, perfectly conveys the city‘s refined, casual and stylish contemporary lifestyle. The emeraldlike light color tone of the guestrooms is a blend of black, gray, white and chrome yellow; bohemian crystal elements appear everywhere, and the enchanting branches of the chandeliers not only light up the space, but also reflect the deep charm of the traditional Czech art; the straight and clean pinstripes are a tribute to Czech aesthetics, and the old black and white photos of Prague on the walls bring a comfortable homely atmosphere. Looking out from the window, the scenery can be captured from any angle, and the Prague Castle can be spotted following the Vltava River.
Three tall historic buildings represent the new Renaissance, neoclassical and Baroque styles. Among them, the NeoRenaissance style building was designed in 1883. It was formerly a commercial and residential building. The highlight of the interior is the arched structure with a sloping laminated roof. The affluent, opulent art design has been perfectly restored, including the murals in the majestic entrance hall and the classical columns supporting the walls. Back in 1827, the neoclassical building was originally a factory and was not used as an apartment building until 1846.The walls of the building reflect the northern and western decorative styles, and the elegant cornices and delicately painted details remain to this day. Built in 1568, the Baroque building is one of the oldest, standing on the Vltava River in front of the Crusader Knights Monastery. The Presidential Suite of the Four Seasons Hotel is located here, and the rich red and gold tones and elegant furniture style will definitely create the illusion of the European royal family. The Charles Bridge outside the bedroom window is close at hand. The integration of multiple architectural styles, and their abilities to interact with each other, are truly praiseworthy.
The interior decoration of the hotel has also successfully combined the new and old art styles. In the selection of materials, French limestone, marble and expensive logs are used in public areas, inheriting the traditional interior decoration style of Prague. In the lobby, the limestone panels, the frame edges and the structured openings of the door are an important embodiment of the interior decoration of the 19th century. Yet, the simple geometric pattern of the lobby floor and the design of the restaurant wall panel show a modernist look.
The Unbearable Lightness of Being
Through the Czechborn French writer Milan Kundera‘s prose and its deep irony, I have absorbed the exquisite and heavy semantics of a Frenchman with a Czech bloodline. The most ironic thing is not his work, but that even when he becomes famous in the foreign land, the rebellion and the deep sorrows of the Central Europeans still run deep, something that even the romantic and passionate Seine can not provide. That may be the true unbearable lightness of being. Instead, I favored more Bedrich Smetana who returned from Gothenburg to Prague. The patriotic enthusiasm, the grand imagery and connotation in his work ”My Fatherland” are full of the Czechs‘ praise of life, independence and dignity. Such glorification is more direct and splendid. Passionate Central Europe; rebellious and innocent Czechs; carefree and bourgeoisiefilled Prague; since staying at the Four Seasons Hotel, I seemed to have had a mutual understanding of them and enjoyed an identical soul vibration.
