Inspired by the brilliant art of illusion from the 2006 movie The Prestige set in the 19th century Victorian Age, The Prestige Hotel draws upon its cultural relevance to the same era of its colonial surroundings within Church Street and presents a playful homage to magic. It features sophisticated elements of visual trickery from an enchanting reception desk that seem to magically balance on chrome orbs; interior fittings transposed with magicians‘ props like Houdini‘s escape box; the magical lattice of shadows animating the journey through the corridors; to subtle visual trickery of levitated beds and hidden doors that reveal concealed rooms. Explore further, you will find modern and historic elements that are distinctively ”Penang” finely etched into interior bronze wall fittings.
