Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro. The hotel aims to offer Brazilian design and hospitality in an urban resort setting and is the first Grand Hyatt in the city as well as the second in Brazil.
Upon arrival, a large vertical garden, one of 17 throughout the property, welcomes guests as they make their way to the large wooden lobby doors. The lobby’s design highlights include mosaic floors and local artwork in order to provide an “authentic Brazilian experience.”
The 436 guestrooms include 40 suites, two presidential suites, and one penthouse suit with a terrace including a lounge area and a plunge pool. Designed by interior designer Yabu Pushelberg and with the assistance of Brazilian designer firm Anastassiadis Arquitetos, the hotel’s accommodations offer large balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows, along with stones and fabrics authentic to Brazil.
